dov4l software package provides program to set and query settings of video4linux devices, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install dov4l
dov4l is installed in your system.
Make ensure the dov4l package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep dov4l *
You will get with dov4l package name, version, architecture and description in a table
